"This approach brings the benefits of ECMAScript5 to the DOM. With the fourth Platform Preview, IE9 becomes the first browser to have a fully discoverable DOM through ES5 reflection features."

Microsoft claimed that the new browser generates an Acid 3 test score of 95, versus 83 in the previous preview, leaving out support for SVG fonts and SMIL animation of SVG – both features that executives said were on the decline.

Microsoft also said that it had contributed 519 additional tests to standards bodies to the W3C working group and others, for a total of 2,138.
